One day in alt.atheism, Also Sprach georgann:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/weekends/
It was #1 this weekend at 21.8 million - tops ever for a docu, and at under
900 screens, this averaged over $25,000 a screening. It's not going to
pull in screaming kids dragging their parents along for a good nap, like
the dreaded disney toons, but it's numbers are impressive.
Then again, the closest competitor was White Chicks, follwed by Dodgeball.
Moore picked a good weekend for a release.

That's its opening weekend. And the weekend he picked may be the only way
his movie can show a $25,000 average.
Give it a week or a month and see how it holds against the years best

What the hell is georgidiot on about now? For a political "documentary" to
do *this well is record breaking. Even if it doesn't make another dime,
it's set records. Comparing it to entertainment movies is unwarranted.
Apples and oranges.
(Hell, that one could even contemplate such a comparison shows that
Moore's pulled off something unusual)
