OT: Forte Agent users - question. |
Is it possible to change the message list (top right hand pane in
default setup) so that the most recent messages are at the top of the
list, not the bottom as at present.
I find it very inconvenient having to scroll down the list each time
for each newsgroup in order to read the most recent message.
Particularly so with alt.atheism has it usually has many thousands of
threads.

Group -> Sort Messages By -> Status -> Newest Thread First

On the Menu at the top of the screen:
click Options/General Preferences
click on Message List tab
At the bottom of the screen,
check the box " "Date sorts most recent first"
Click OK.
This will sort the most recent at the top.

I have version 1.93 and Therion's option is not available. Thanks for
the other suggestions but I can get the messages with the newest at
the top but without the thread view. When I have the thread view the
newest messages are always at the bottom and require scrolling.
Looks like I will have to update to V2

Yes, but I don't remember how. It's in Options, General Preferences somewhere. However,
it's very simple to drag the elevator button quickly to the bottom and start there lickity
split.. You don't need to scroll down.

Just keep clicking on "date" until you get the seuence you want.
I prefer to have threads grouped by date within subject. Click on date
then subject.
