OT: Get Your War On clip art |
Does anybody know where to get the clip art used in GYWO? Every interview
I've read with the guy who does it refers to "public-domain corporate clip
art" or something to that effect, but about two hours with Google turned up
squat.
(If you're wondering *why*, a while ago I took a couple strips and modified
the text bubbles to make a little web-miniseries about life here at RPI:

I'm thinking of doing another set, but I want more flexibility and
resolution than I can get from just editing the GYWO panels.)
Any pointers or other information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My local art supply house, Texas Art Supplies, had a large number of clip
art books. Check your local art supply house, or used book stores.
I have seen in the past in office supply stores, CDs with "1200 clip art
drawings" or such, often with specific themes, holidays, etc.
I understand that some people have bought old magazines and raided
their pages for clip art. Try google again, google: clip art books,
cart, art, publishers. Cart is something I use that usually returns on line
stores and such, usually "your cart" will get returned and sort out online
stores rather than websites. Find a few books and find out the publishers
and go direct to them to see what clip art books they publish.
Some publishers I have seen from the past have rather extensive
catalogues.
Google can be a *****.
