Tell me about it, but even so my first trip through it was 92%/14 miles/444
seconds. (After missing several by better than 60 miles miles or so I took my
time and made sure I got things in the correct spot. Of course the fact that
I mostly had isolated states to place in virgin territory - ever try to
place Colorado without any real reference point, exactly?)

Al Franken can. I saw a "SNL News" sketch (1996? 2000?)
where he was talking about candidates carrying certain states.
He hand drew the US states perfectly from memory, drawing
2-4 at a time. It was amazing *and* funny.

When I was in elementary school, I can remember one of our projects
being to draw a map of the US with all the states by hand. Sad that our
educational system has sunk so low these days.

98 percent, 5 miles, 189 seconds.
Had a somewhat lucky draw in the order, however, past the first state.
I had to place Nebraska first, and didn't put it high enough. The
rest had at least a partial outline to match to.
I did not find that especially high precision was required, either.
Get it reasonably close, and it snaps into position as a 'perfect'
match.

First try: 26 out of a max of 39. Not very good, but then I spend a lot more
time looking at stars than at the ground. ;-p

Shrub would foul up the United States. But then, he's had plenty of
practice.

I got 94%, 8 miles, and 192 seconds the first time. It is more difficult at
times because sometimes it will start out with interior states.

You have to be *real* precise or you won't get credit.

That was fun. 94%, 15 miles error, 370 seconds. Damn, I took a long
swing of coffee while the timer was running. My biggest miss was
Deleware, which I put between Vermont and Maine (ok, laugh it up), but I
had 47 out of 50 perfect. I can't believe I pegged Utah, the first state
it gave me west of the Mississippi.
