This sounds similar to a story from Gulf War I:
http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/3589/us-iraq-lie.html
http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/03/117426.php
Of a couple million Iraqis, and thousands upon thousands that were said to
have been tortured and imprisoned by Saddam, the *VERY ONE* that Wolfowitz
uses to support his statements turns out to be a complete fraud. It's a bit
of a stretch to call this coincidence.
I smell a rat.
(Just for the record, I have no issue with Gulf War I. I just remembered the
story, and thought of how similar it was.)

I have. It smacks entirely too much of the Christian "fall". Setting
someone up, then attacking him for doing exactly what you set him up
to do.
I don't think the apple fell far from the tree. I think the elder
Bush just had a little more sense than to let the cat all the way out
of the bag. He should have chosen Jeb to carry on the dynasty.

"Does it ever amaze anyone else how little faith some heterosexuals have
in heterosexuality? It's supposed to be this god-given human instinct
that only the warped and perverted ever stray from; but, it seems, if we
once tell our straight children a message even as mild as "some people
are gay, and that's all right," that'll be enough to send lil' Suzy into
the arms of women forever. It's a wonder the race has survived this
long, really..."
