OT: Jesus in Youth |
Jesus in Youth
1
Once my foster father, Joseph, and my mother Mary had found me
conversing with the elders of the temple, they guided me home and on
arrival we found Joseph of Aramathea waiting with exciting news. He
took me aside and told me that we were going on a journey together. I
bade goodbye to my parents, kissing my mother on the right hand and
shaking my foster father by the hand, wishing them both peace.
Joseph of Aramathea was a merchant who often traveled abroad and we
traveled that evening to the seashore by mule. Joseph told me that the
journey by sea would open my mind, and that that night I should get a
good night's sleep. I had been talking about Isaiah's prophecies with
the elders in the temple and I prayed that night to my Father in Heaven
that He would keep us safe on our journey and reveal the path of my
life to me. I thought of my future as I rested my head and hoped for
people of future generations to remember me and fulfill their part in
prophetic messianic messages.
By morning, through dreams in which I experienced many visions, I knew
the age when I would start my ministry and that I should live my youth
to supplant the earthly structure with a heavenly plane. Joseph had
often talked to us about his previous journeys and as we set sail he
asked where we should go first. I told him England and he winked and
smiled at me. I smiled back at him feeling more mature already. The
sea water glistened as the merchant vessel passed through the waves and
the sails bellowed in the warm breeze and as Joseph steered the boat he
broke into the song of psalm 90, which pleased me to the heart.
2
The journey by sea was always pleasant and I noticed the height of the
sun became lower the further north we traveled, and the days became
cooler. This cooler weather made me more active and I honed my
carpentry skills and drew some building plans. Joseph was used to
traveling and kept me entertained all the while with his tales of
English craftsmen and he taught me the language in which I was to
become proficient.
One dawn as the sun came over the horizon, there came sight of a green
and pleasant land. Joseph broke into song and within an hour we were
pulling the boat onto the shore. In the distance, I spied a tall man
walking towards us leading a white horse. When he was close enough,
Joseph called to him and the horse neighed in recognition of my
countryman and companion.
Joseph shook the man by the hand and he introduced himself to me with a
friendly, "So this is the young man, Jesus!" His grip as he shook my
hand was the strongest I had ever felt and as I looked up into his face
and our eyes met I could see the shape of my reflection in his deep
dark pupils that were rimmed with a tinge of the purest blue like the
sea on the shore of Israel. I felt a change in me and as his grip
loosened I put my hand to my face and felt the soft hair of my youthful
beard.
Joseph patted the horse's neck and the horse turned its head and
muzzled at his hand. He then motioned to me to get on the horse's back
and put his hands together to hoist me up. It was a thrilling
experience to be on such a tall animal and the view of this fresh land
made me think that I had been compensated for the fall of Adam. Joseph
and the man, named David, walked along speaking in English of which I
understood the jist of a few sentences. They mentioned Scripture, and
Joseph exalted me to David saying that I was beyond my years as a
Scholar to which David taunted me with, "You'll get a proper secular
education here, Lad!"
With my foster father being a carpenter and with myself following him
into the trade, I already had a grasp of some mathematics, which I
enjoyed due to the beauty of numbers. My plans showed proficiency in
the theorem named after Pythagoras, a well traveled man.
David looked up at me and asked, "What are you going to name your
horse?"
"Isaiah!" I replied, and at that moment I felt the spirit of prophecy
fall on me, "I will return on a horse like this, in the north west of
this land!"
"I can see we're going to have an exciting seven years educating you,
Jesus", David enthused and Joseph laughed heartily. He hadn't told me
I was going to be away from my family for so long, but as I rode along
the pathway seeing the different species of tree and flora, I could see
I was going to be well educated in preparation for my ministry. I
quickly worked out that I would be 19 at the end of my English
education and wondered what I would do for the 11 years until my
ministry in Israel.
With doing this quick mental arithmetic, I mentioned to David that I
saw relevance in numbers and he started to quiz me.
"What is the most perfect, perfect number?" he asked.
I quickly replied, "6, the sum of its divisors 1+2+3=6 and 1x2x3=6
which makes it most perfect", and he asked me what the relevance of the
number was.
I didn't know whether he had cottoned on to my newly found prophetic
talent or whether he just thought I was leading him on. I thought for
a while as we proceeded past a waterfall where the pathway ran along by
the side of a river, and I was inspired, "Are you familiar with Isaiah
9?"
"Yes, verse 6, 'For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and
the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace'
"
I thought it through, gripping the mane of my horse, Isaiah, and with
confidence I gave him the following explanation "The 6th child of a
family will be an only son, like me, he will go into ministry aged 37"
"Is there relevance in 37, Jesus?", David asked, and as he looked up at
me I saw the pupils of his eyes small and his eyes were hazel in
colour, he looked perplexed.
I was inspired again, "37 will be the age of his earthly father when he
is born."
David thought for a second, "12, 35, 37, a right angled triangle
according to Pythagoras' theorem. Is there any relevance to 12 and
35?"
I had to concentrate hard and I gripped Isaiah's mane very tightly and
he neighed loudly. The inspiration came again and I replied "I am 12
now, and I bring the Truth to England, but if you take 12 from 35, you
get 23, and at that age, he will go to Israel and respect the Sabbath
and Judaic Law in Galilee!"
David remembered more Scripture from Isaiah 9, "...but in the future he
will honour Galilee of the Gentiles..."
And then he asked, "What year will this be?"
I knew that this would be the key to my new covenant, so I told him the
year of his visit "1991 in the modern era! Keeping Catholic values."
David fired back with, "Can you explain 1991?"
I knew that with this answer, I would be making a revelation about
myself, so I continued slowly, "My Father in Heaven will send Scripture
to a messenger in Arabia and it will have a code of 19 running through
it, and the significance of 91 is that, at the age of 37, he will work
it out by reading it from the back first!"
David stood in front of my horse, and Isaiah came to a halt. David
knelt on one knee saying "Lord Jesus Christ, I can teach you
nothing!" to which I replied, "When I leave these shores, I will
write my Book of Life and your name will be the first!"
3
We soon came to a small market town called Glastonbury and as people
filed past in the busy main street, David vied for their attention by
announcing "Christ, Jesus the Christ". Some people smiled at me and
others took no notice, but I doubt if many of them had studied
Scripture, which I was kind of glad of as I knew that my Father in
Heaven had created man with free will and some people in future years
would misuse Scripture for their own gain. At least I could teach the
current lot as best I could at my young age by my example of just
actions.

Quite a fantasy/fairy tail, I prefer science fiction, myself. At least with
science fiction the authors weave some reality into the plot of the story.
