I was not making any great protest by abandoning television five years
ago. I moved house, my old telly wouldn't work and I put off getting a
new one until the builders had moved out. That took three months and I
realised that I hadn't missed it, so I just never got around to buying
another one.
That gives me a unique perspective. I have watched a lot of television
in the past few months - and it has changed a lot in five years.
