US general rallies marines for assault on Falluja

Outside Falluja, the US marines were yesterday in the final stages of
preparation for the assault on the city, which last night appeared to
be under way.
The commander of the US 1st Marine Expeditionary Force gave a rallying
speech to 3,000 of his troops. "This is America's fight," said
Lieutenant General John Sattler. "What we've added to it is our Iraqi
partners. They want to go in and liberate Falluja. They feel this
town's being held hostage by mugs, thugs, murderers and terrorists.
"God bless you, each and every one. You know what your mission is. Go
out there and get it done."
