OT: Kitty crack |
What do they put in kitty treats? They look just like regular old dry cat
food, but my cats go absolutely nuts when I give them treats. I once tried
to trick them by putting regular cat food in a cat treat package, but they
weren't fooled. Do they put crack in them?

Yeast? My cats like that a lot, at least in the form of yeast tables
(a minor vitamin B supplement, I think).

One would think catnip but they don't eat catnip - they get off on the
odor, try putting some in a sock so they can smell it but not get to
it.
Others in this thread mentioned cranberry - I've not heard of cats
going for that - but I'll try it. I love cranberry juice, (it's real
good, nutritionally) and next time, I'll see if either of my cats lick
it off my finger; if not it must be something about the cranberry
plant, vine, tree or whatever it is, botanically.
Hmmmmmm, a pipe and screen? NAH. But wouldn't that be a hoot!!

Well, that demonstrates the diversity in cats - they each have a
different MO and sometimes I think they subtly adapt to their human.
I could be wrong, I often am. Observing the behavior of cats and
deducing any reason from that, like cause and effect, is not a field
of expertise most people could make a solid claim to.
But the damn quadrupeds sure enough most excellently dissolve my
stress very quickly. Perhaps it's because they demonstrate the
futility of figuring out the behavior of many or most of the people I
encounter.
No matter what the reason they make me laugh, they show affection to
me, and they love me. And they tolerate female humans that I bring
home once in a while.
All this love, affection and tolerance and all I have to do is run cat
food through them and change the litter. I suppose I could donate the
used litter.......any ideas?

He laughed his ***** off when I told him I put used litter on the ice.
But it worked!!

go batshit insane for them. Not a bit of meat to be found and they
like them as much as tuna.

These are actually the Wal-Mart store brand, but I usually get the Pounce
treats that are shaped like colorful fish. They seem to like these better
for some reason.
