As privatization is rejected across Latin America, the job of providing
basic services is being returned to ill-equipped states.

Ill-equipped? "Plundered" is a more accurate term.

Venezuela and Cuba don't have a problem with it, and neither
did Nicaragua until the US-backed terrorists, the Contras,
and a US-backed right wing political party forced them out
of office.
The Nicaraguan people were left with a lousy choice: vote
for the Sandanistas and have the US ruin their economy, or
vote for the right wingers and let them destroy the economy.

Maybe you could explain to the surviving Miskito Indians about what
great fellows the Sandies were. And to the Mothers.

After you explain US support for Somoza and Bastista and their
reigns of terror. Again, Fraud hasn't the stones to deal with
the facts.

We were fighting the USSR. We had some hard choices to make, and we made
them. Those are the facts. Once the Cold War was over, we dropped our
"support" for such regimes and they have since cleaned up their acts.

Yeah, they just don't bother with things like basic services. Then they
blame "the US" for all their problems.

The Sandies didn't need US help, they were destroying their own economy
just fine, just like Cuba has and Venezuela will.
