SUNNY SKIES: He nabs Saddam, then gets Kaddafi to cough up his WMD. To
the Dems' dismay, Bush is having a happy holiday

Newsweek
Dec. 29/Jan. 5 issue - For a guy who had just learned that his knees
were worn out, George W. Bush had a remarkable spring in his step as
he swept through the poinsettia-framed foyer of the White House with
his wife, Laura, in tow. Just a few hours earlier, doctors at Walter
Reed Army Medical Center had told him that 30 years of jogging had
taken their toll, and that he needed to find less strenuous forms of
exercise. Here, perhaps, was one: standing in Christmas-party
receiving lines for hours as guests filed by to have their picture
taken with him. Normally unable to disguise his boredom at such
events—a smirk often lurks beneath the smile—the president seemed to
almost relish them this time, even high-fiving members of a press
corps he is convinced is the Coalition of the Antagonistic. "I think
he's actually having a good time," an aide marveled at the crudites
table in the East Room.
