OT: LOTR Swords |
Has anyone else seen the replica of Anduril, the Sword of Elessar, and been
disappointed in the quality of the repro?
I saw one at the local flea market this past Saturday. From 20 feet away it
was lovely. At 8 feet it was ugly--the blade wasn't mated very well to the
crossguard and had some visible ripples along the edges. I hope the guy
wasn't charging what this site's charging--and that what's on the site
isn't the shabby version:

Me, I was in a Samurai sort of mood; I bought this 3-piece set:

....and a wooden practice sword. I'm seriously considering taking Kendo if I
can find a good dojo--or maybe just a "simulated combat" course a friend of
mine has been taking for the past few weeks. It's aimed more for actors,
and would be vastly different from an actual martial arts course, but it'd
still be something to do that doesn't involve sitting on my ***** =0

Where are you? My brother teaches martial arts, and he might know of
someone who's for real near you.
