OT Marlins, Yankees, gods |
world series is Marlins vs Yankees!?
This proves it! If the universe is ruled by some kind of supreme
consciousness, it surely is ruled by Satan.
I'll just have to root for the Marlins, won't I?

To we Sox fans, there is no god . . . unless he's a Bambino.

If there is a benevolent deity, it's certainly at least out to lunch;
there's not a baseball fan alive who wouldn't be glued to every pitch
of a Sox/Cubs World Series (which was my intense desire). OTOH, no one
outside of Florida or New York gives a flying Ford Frick about
Marlins/Yankees AFAICT, and I freely admit that as a New Yorker.
I'll just have to root for the Marlins, won't I?
I'll refrain from comment... ;-)

Rather than appear a traitor to my home town, I'll just mention in
passing that there's also a National League (y'know, the one without
the DH, the ultimate blasphemy in baseball) team here, and
consequently, not everyone from NY is a Yankee fan... some of us might
even want to order sushi while watching the Series... ;-)
So far, well done. I hope they keep it up.
Well, it doesn't make up for missing a Cubs/Red Sox World Series, but
we'll just have to suck it up.

I have a sweetie from New York who is a devoted Mets fan. She still
sends Bill Buckner birthday cards.

Really. Except for Pudge, there's just no real story here.

You mean other than the fact that the Marlins owner, along with the
Commissioner, are in court over violations of the RICO Act?
I would think that having a commissioner and an owner undergoing serious
criminal charges might be considered a real story in some circles.

Shite, I've been found out. Guess all those fundies who keep saying we
atheists really worship Satan will be happy to be proven right, huh?
Please, oh please don't report me to the EAC mess-up department.

Hey, last year the Angels proved that prayer was unnecessary.
