Before walking into the theater, I wouldn't have let any number of bad
reviews dissuade me from seeing it. Now that I have seen it, I wish that
they had.
I rented Matrix II last week. It wasn't worth the 30 Bath ($0.75) I
paid for it. The bag of chips I ate during the movie had more meaning.
Matrix III I put on my "never watch in my entire life" list.

Sort of. Though I thought while Alien 3 was rubbish, Alien 4 was
really rather good.
Personally I thought there was a lot of good ideas in Matrix II that
could have been built on in III, but IMO they flushed them all down
the pan in favour of overly long and not well thought out action
sequences.

I suspect the only reason the first one was _any_ good is because
Keanu's permanent expression of "bored awe" was actually appropriate.
Seriously, has anyone ever heard if he has that disorder where your
facial muscles are paralyzed so you can't smile or make any really
recognizable expressions at all? :-? I recall a few smiles here and
there, but they were so fake, I'd easily believe them to be pure CGI.

at least had some great stuff in it. I really enjoyed the
fight between Neo and the Agent Smiths. Also, the
albino/ghost guys in the freeway chase scene was phenomenal.
Sadly, Matrix III didn't really have any exciting action
sequences at all.

Now, now. I heard it was good. I especially heard that the ending was
awesome. While I might end up agreeing with you, I'll wait 'till I see
it to form my own opinions. I tend to have unusual opinions about
movies.
For example, I think that as pathetic as Star Wars I and II were, IV-VI
were three of the most miserably amateur and pitiful movies I've ever
seen in my life. The acting was bad in I and II?! Fer chrissake, the
acting in the originals, with the one exception of Harrison Ford (who
did a fairly good job), looked like what you'd expect to see in a
kindergarten skit! Likewise with the plot and the action. Looks like
kids playing with Transformers. The special effects were fairly good --
for their time, that is -- but then, so were the special effects in
Hollow Man, which was another movie so terrible that I'd find repeatedly
stabbing myself in the eye with a pen more entertaining that actually
watching it.
Every time I hear Star Wars fans talking about what a travesty the
recent movies are, compared to the originals, I just roll my eyes. The
recent movies were significantly better, in much the same way that cow
***** smells significantly better than dog *****.
Ok, anyway, sorry for getting off on a tangent :) But yeah, I'll watch

Now, now. I heard it was good. I especially heard that the ending was
awesome. While I might end up agreeing with you, I'll wait 'till I see it

For example, I think that as pathetic as Star Wars I and II were, IV-VI
were three of the most miserably amateur and pitiful movies I've ever seen
in my life. The acting was bad in I and II?! Fer chrissake, the acting
in the originals, with the one exception of Harrison Ford (who did a
fairly good job), looked like what you'd expect to see in a kindergarten
skit! Likewise with the plot and the action. Looks like kids playing
with Transformers. The special effects were fairly good -- for their
time, that is -- but then, so were the special effects in Hollow Man,
which was another movie so terrible that I'd find repeatedly stabbing
myself in the eye with a pen more entertaining that actually watching it.
Every time I hear Star Wars fans talking about what a travesty the recent
movies are, compared to the originals, I just roll my eyes. The recent
movies were significantly better, in much the same way that cow *****
smells significantly better than dog *****.
Ok, anyway, sorry for getting off on a tangent :) But yeah, I'll watch
Matrix III and then form my opinions. We shall see.

You forget that the first Star Wars movie was the first well made sci-fi
film since Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even if the plot was shallow
and the acting was mediocre, it was a movie that was obviously lovingly
crafted by a true sci-fi fan!

The acting was almost non-existant and the plot was even flimsier. From a
technical point of view, the movie is well worth watching for the CGI.
