Detroit is still considered the Midwest?
Pointless evaluation:
Seems pretty far east to me, and it's in the eastern time
zone. On the other hand, it's just north of Ohio (also in the
eastern time zone, but usually considered Midwestern), and it
was part of the Northwest Territory. It fits geographically,
at least.
