OT: Mel, I hate Jews, Gibson... |
The police report by Los Angeles County Deputy James Mee, which has
leaked to TMZ.com, describes Mel Gibson's behavior while threatening a
police officer, cursing, making anti-Jewish remarks and verbally
harassing a female officer, after being pulled over for speeding and
discovered as driving under the influence.
The report is eight pages long and was considered too inflammatory,
especially because of its anti-Jewish comments, to be released to the
public.
Gibson, aged 50, was pulled over for speeding at 3:10 a.m. on the
Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. The Oscar-winning
"Braveheart" star and director was driving 80 mph when he was caught by
a radar trap, sheriff's deputies said. The speed limit in that area is
45 mph to 55 mph.
He had .12 % alcohol in his blood, according to the breathalyzer test
given on the spot. Mel also failed the standard sobriety tests. In
California the maximum amount of alcohol in one's blood has to be
less than .08% for people over 21, given they can prove they're still
sober.
Apparently, he went on a rampage against Jews, whom he thinks are
responsible "for all the wars in the world." Gibson also cursed and
reportedly said "f****** Jews" and asked the deputy who pulled him
over whether he was a Jew. Next he said "You motherf****r. I'm going to
f*** you," threatening to flex his celebrity muscles to get back at the
officer.
The star also harassed a female officer on the scene, telling her:
"What do you think you're looking at, sugar t**s?"
A devout Catholic, Gibson has been hassled with allegations of
anti-Semitism - which he has constantly denied - since his 2004 film
"The Passion of the Christ," about the crucifixion of Jesus.
The Aussie-raised Gibson has a dark past of alcoholism and was known to
down five beers before breakfast. But Gibson has said he gave up
drinking in the 1980s at the urging of Tina Turner, his co-star in "Mad
Max Beyond Thunderdome."
Gibson was last busted for driving under the influence in 1984. At that
time, he ran a red light and crashed into another car in Toronto while
filming "Mrs. Soffel" with Diane Keaton. He pleaded guilty and was
fined $240.
After yesterday's arrest, Gibson was booked at the Lost Hills sheriff's
station at 4:06 a.m. He spent a few hours in jail before being released
on $5,000 bail at 9:45 a.m., sheriff's deputies said.
His case will be further investigated and sent to the district
attorney's office for review. No court date has been set yet.
The sheriff's department has made a habit of releasing the mug shots of
stars arrested for DUI charges, including actress Kim Delaney in 2002,
but Gibson's booking photo "was not available," according to department
spokesman Steve Whitmore. The press claims sheriff Lee Baca personally
ordered Gibson's mug kept out of public reach.
The California Highway Patrol, which has busted stars including Nick
Nolte and former "Growing Pains" cutie Tracey Gold for DUI, routinely
releases stars' mug shots, no matter how embarrasing.
The official statement by Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve
Whitmore states: "We arrested Mr. Gibson on suspicion of driving under
the influence, and we took him into the station without incident and we
released him and gave him a citation." About the possible upcoming
trial he said: "We will now prepare the case."
In a 2004 interview for ABC News, he told Diane Sawyer: "I would get
addicted to anything. Anything at all, OK?" When Sawyer asked if it was
alcohol, he said "Yeah, yeah mostly. It was, yeah."
Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson, born January 3, 1956, is an Academy
Award-winning U.S.-born, Australian-raised actor, director and
producer, best known for acting in the "Mad Max" movie series, the
"Lethal Weapon" series, acting in and directing the Academy
Award-winning "Braveheart" and directing the 2004 blockbuster
"The Passion of the Christ." In February of 1985, he was the first
person ever to garner the title of "Sexiest Man Alive" from People
magazine.
He is the father of seven, born from 1980 to 1999, and married Robyn
Moore, whom he initially met through a dating service, on June 7, 1980.

I don't understand the problem with Mel's addressing a woman as
"Sugar Toes." ;-)

Jeebus would have been so proud of him.

What would you have called it if he'd killed someone while driving drunk?

Riiight. :-(
It's just a carryon from the antijewish rant in his film...
The man is a racist and bigot and his mouth caught him out.
Any comment on the corrupt practices of police not fully and properly
reporting the arrest oof a 'famous' person ?

The man is a racist and bigot and his mouth caught him out.
He was drunk.
Booze makes people stupid.
The Romans would say (and most I think would agree): "In vino veritas".
Gibson's bigotry was learned at his father's knee.
His dad is something of a nutcase.
A man can be trained to be a bigot but not give into it which takes
strength.
It can come out unintentionally in a bad moment.
That may be what happened here.
