OT: More important advice. |
Never, ever, pull a nailed electrical access panel off the wall with a
claw hammer when it's attached rather more securely than you think so
you feel obliged to use excessive force.
This can result in a minor concussion, blood all over the place, and a
loss of skin from ones nose.
Words to live by. Trust me on this.

Also...if you're engaged in intercourse and she's saying "I'm coming I'm
coming!", no matter how silly a mood you are in, don't say "Ok...I'll put
the kettle on!"...unless you are an experience bronco rider and know how to
fall properly when you are flung into the air!

"Madam, I live"... Well, that's what I call it.
Aside on the NHS (UK free at the point of delivery health care).
So I go up to the doctors, with this big nose with half the skin
missing and blood everywhere (faces tend to bleed a lot, though it's
not necessarily serious).
"so do you think this needs treatment?" I say.
"we're not medically qualified so we can't say" say the receptionists.
"So you're sure about that?" says I, proceeding to bleed over their
reception desk.
"Point taken" they say.
So the practice nurse (and she's scary in a very interesting kind of a
way) fixes me up with a check on my last tetanus jab, some antiseptic
cream, a plaster and some fairly forthright advice.
Oh - the NHS. I love it.

Oh - the NHS. I love it.
Reminds me of when my husband ended up in an "emergency" room in a hospital in
Dublin the 2nd day we were there on our honeymoon after pulling a muscle in his
back while holding in a sneeze (and NO, it wasn't from wild sex the previous
evening)- It hurt so bad he thought he'd broken something. That place was a
dump, absolutely reeked of urine and there were people literally bleeding all
over the place. Thankfully it was nothing major and we still had time to hit
the pubs before closing.
And I'm glad you're doing better too :)

OK, I've done my share of brute-force work with hammers of the prying
kind, but I'm finding it difficult to imagine just what it is you did.
Were you pulling, or levering with the hammer? If the former, I must ask,
have you never seen a mid-20th century cartoon?

Levering. But the second set of nails were set in concrete and not
wood. But of course with my magnificent strength granted to me by the
grace of the IPU, I rather forgot myself.
"Opps".
If the former, I must ask,
have you never seen a mid-20th century cartoon?
Oh many. This is presumably why I chose to replicate one, repetition
being the essence of pleasure.

True. But significantly better than to have all of the above PLUS
electrical burns.
Other good things not to do:
pour gasoline into the carburator of a car trying to get it to start.
Use gasoline to kill ants on the floor of a bathroom that has a water
heater with an exposed pilot flame.
Stand next to a cherry picker while the bucket swings into a power line.
Get struck by lightening. Ever.
Use your hand to clear snow out of the chute of a snow blower.
Reach under a rotary lawn mower, even just a little.
