RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - One of the nation's leading suppliers of
electronic voting machines may decide against selling new equipment in
North Carolina after a judge declined Monday to protect it from
criminal prosecution should it fail to disclose software code as
required by state law.

They won't release the code? Don't our taxes pay for this stuff? What are
they trying to hide, and from whom?

This is an opportunity to protect democracy: have congress write
an all-or-nothing bill: Diebold in all fifty states or none. If
they won't release their code, they lose all government contracts.
In the Canadian federal election in January or February, the
votes will be "X"'s on paper and counted by hand. Watch how
long it takes to get the final results, usually two days.
I'd rather they spend a week counting paper three times and
getting it right than getting it wrong in two seconds. You
don't get to fix this mistake for another four or so years.

How are Diebold's intentions NOT obvious?
