I was waiting for that. Heh....
I actually do have three nieces and a nephew. Although the niece on my
family's side prefers to call me Uncle Herb (my middle name.) It goes
way back to the reason I was named Victor Herbert Sagerquist - my dad's
name was Victor, his brother's name was Herbert. Since my dad was the
Vic of the family, I had to endure K-8 as "Herbie". My brother and I
both liked our Uncle Herb, so I became Uncle Herb to his daughter. Since
I switched to my first name when I entered High School, nobody on my side
of the Sagerqusit family knows of the "herb" thing. Thus Uncle Vic, and
his motorcycle website.

Thanks so much for the photo tours. Someday, before I get too old, I
hope to ride through most of those areas.

I took a half-day today through the Lockwood area, then Route 33 south to
Ojai, back to the Magic Mountain area via the 126 through Fillmore. I
stopped at one of the area veggie stands and got some big old tomatoes and
onions, went great with the sausage sandwiches for dinner. So did the Sam
Adams...
My camera quit at the halfway point. I forgot the backup batteries. Doh!

Sam Adams? You should try Sam Jackson. It'll get you drunk!

That sounds like a good excuse to take the ride again. ;-)

I think I've been up there four times now. And I could go another four
and still enjoy it. I call it "The Playground". Route 33 is one of the
best roads Southern California has to offer - almost as good as Angeles
Crest Highway. You just have to keep an eye out for the sportbikers, who
seem to travel in clouds, buzzing behind you like bees...
And just to the north of the area is Cerro Noroeste, a never-patrolled
gem where I've reached speeds over 100 in several stretches - yaa hoo.
And to the southwest is Solvang, where you can pick up a dozen different
flavors of fudge, the strongest licorice in the state, the most
outstanding pastry in the country, and then have Aebelskiver for lunch.
Then you can fly home on the 101 for miles along the west coast of the
United States of Fundymerica.
And they think atheists have nothing to live for. <chortle>
