Sept. 21 - A presidential election can be a strange prism on the real
world. Small incidents can look monumental simply because they're
unexpected or embarrassing (remember the flap over the word RATS
appearing in a George W. Bush ad in 2000?). And big topics can get
overlooked because they seem old or complex (has there been a serious
discussion about Social Security in 2004?).
