A team of international monitors is spending this week in five key
states across the US observing preparations for the November vote.
The team of 20 intends to focus on three issues that have arisen in
the wake of the controversial Florida vote in the 2000 election:
concerns that some eligible voters are excluded from registering or
voting, doubts over the security of voting electronically and worries
about campaign financing.

Important Note: anyone can sign up to be a volunteer election
monitor. You don't need to be a legal eagle, you will be given
a cellphone and the number of a lawyer on standby, and you can
call for help if you see any incident of voter suppression.
Don't let the rethugs steal another election! Sign up at:

"President Nixon was almost impeached for a burglary at the
Democratic Headquarters; President Clinton was impeached for
having sex with an intern. But President George W. Bush lied
to the Congress and the nation, instigated an illegitimate
war that killed thousands of people, invaded a sovereign
nation, and violated international law. No president has ever
provided such indisputable grounds for impeachment."
