Object: OT: Offline for now
I'm going to be offline a while. My best friend and roommate passed away
this morning. He didn't seem to suffer and it was sudden.
I thought I was prepared for this but I'm not. I'm not going to be up to
playing the Usenet game for a while.

Sorry that things are not going well.
My condolences.

I spoke to him on the phone tonight and he's doing okay, but he is pretty
dazed. He doesn't really know what to do with himself and after the
hurricanes, there's not much he can do. We're keeping in touch via email
and phone. I told him to take it easy. I think he'll be okay once
everything's finalized and he can get the heck out of there. I wish he
lived closer - if he did, we'd be kicking back with a beer right night
watching his dogs terrorizing my cats - or visa versa.
I'll be sure to pass on everyone's kind words.
