Sounds just like his dad's last two years as President when
he was taking medicine that caused him to speak in half
sentences. No one knew about the medicine until he was
out of office and cured of whatever had ailed him. Of
course, Shrub is naturally almost incoherent at the best of

ball, hell, watch TV. With a "until it's done" deadline, what's
the incentive?


And collaborate with the likes of Halliburton, Bechtel, et al. to

the end." If they start whining "but the insurgents'll get us!"
then we say "then you better get your butt in gear huh?"



That might accomplish two things. Not only would it make them shape
up their army, but it might force them to look long and hard at the
prospect of a long and bloody civil war, and perhaps come to some
agreement with the insurgents.

Personally, I was under the impression that a terrorist is someone who
engages in terrorism. It's a method, not a goal. The goal is to change
something in the way the government or society that is the target of the
terrorism is acting. It tends to be born of frustration and anger, much
like riots are, and, much like riots, terror is useless in itself.

I agree. terrorism is a tactic not a political position or even a
belief. Also what is called an act of terror is quite arbitrary. Many,
rightly or wrongly, refer to the Allied fire bombings or the US use of
nuclear weapons in WW2 as acts of terror.
If I recall, the French dissidents did not engage in acts of terrorism
before the revolution. As happens often after revolutions or civil wars,
the winners exact a terrible revenge on the losers for past injustices,
real or imaginary. To me that is not terrorism since the acts are
systematically carried out against a specific target, often under the
pretense of legality.
