OT: Okay, that was fast... |
"Already some Clinton associates have begun lobbying for her early exit
if she loses the primary by a big margin, as polls suggest she could.
Several Senate colleagues who have sat on the fence are now in talks with
Obama advisers about endorsing the freshman Illinois senator over his
more experienced colleague."

Key-rist!
This craziness is getting out of hand!
The IA caucuses and NH primary were, until like last week, taken to be like opening a play in
New Haven. A sort of dress-rehearsal with a paying audience, to shake out bad pages and poor
blocking. All the primaries that ought to represent enough voters' opinions to matter beyond
symbolism are at least a month in the future. The idea that the "Leader of the Free World"
(not my decision to hang that baggage on it) s/b chosen by a handful of people in the warm-up
is going to be our undoing, in case that ship isn't already out of port (and has to rely on
Sherry.)

This is what they get for starting the campaign while Nixon was still in
office and having all the primaries in the first fifteen minutes...
On the other hand, nobody called it at 8 (EST) when the polls closed.
Obama and Clinton are dead even in initial returns.
This may be an actual race or something...

“It is one of the Christian delusions that Christianity
brought charity into the world. It did no such thing.
There were plenty of agencies for taking care of the
poor and helpless long before Christianity was heard
of, and even before Judaism. Both Christianity and
Judaism have converted charity into a sort of pious racket.”
- H. L. Mencken
