It was only 10 years ago that Yahoo was born and Netscape had its IPO,
leading to the Internet boom in Silicon Valley. Nobody seems to be
taking notice. Should we?

Newsweek
Feb. 21 issue - Ten years ago, the sites of Yahoo, eBay and Amazon came
online, marking the official birth of the commercialized Web. There
also was the tectonic IPO of that little start-up called Netscape. But
don't expect much this year in the way of existential musings or
birthday fireworks from the companies themselves (or in Netscape's
case, what's left of it). I asked Yahoo cofounder Jerry Yang, now 36,
how he was celebrating those days of yore. Without the "PR people and
marketing folks telling me to," he says, he probably wouldn't even
pause to observe the benchmark.
