Okay, so one more question. Sorry... :-/
Is it known or speculated that a black hole can in any sense pinch itself so
tight that it essentially "snaps" out of the universe? If so, is it known or
speculated that such an event would have a "rebound" effect resulting in a flood
of newly created matter from around the area of the former event horizon?

I haven't seen it suggested. Black holes have mass, spin and charge, and
conservation laws prevent these quantities from simply disappearing.
However, it is thought that black holes evaporate by way of Hawking
radiation, and disappear from the universe. In doing so they do create a
"flood" of new matter.
