MONTREAL (IPS/GIN)- Five legal experts will hear submissions in
November on whether Britain, Australia and other nations in the
coalition that attacked Iraq should be tried for war crimes by the
International Criminal Court (ICC).
The independent panel will meet Nov. 8-9 in London and focus on
particular events and issues, said Felicity Williams of the UK-based
group Public Interest Lawyers.

But not the United States?
Before the US invaded Afghanistan (and thus well before the
colonization of Iraq) Donald Liebensrumsfeld said he would
take away foreign aid and/or military protection from any
country that supported the prosecution of war crimes charges
against American soldiers. Hence, only countries unafraid
of American retaliation and with sufficient wealth and moral
decency will prosecute Americans.
This came less than three months before hundreds of Afghans
died while locked in a train car with poor ventilation and
during warm months.

That's what I figured. Arrest the street-corner pushers and put them in jail for a long
time, then graciously accept the "police appreciation" banquet being hosted by the grower.

The US doesn't recognize the ICC.

The US doesn't recognize the ICC.
That doesn't mean that they don't recognize us.
