O.T. Paris Peace Accords |
Hello it is my contention that President Nixon prolonged the war,
because he felt that any president who ended the war in his first
term, would not be elected to a second term.
The right is saying that Kerry and Fonda prolonged the war. They also
claim that Fonda and ./ or Kerry visited the POW camps in North Viet
Nam.
Any good sites to dispute any of this?
If the Paris Peace Accord was signed by both the North and South what
happened to it?

What's wrong with visiting POW camps? Those were OUR soldiers in
those camps.

Any president can concede defeat any time he has the courage to do so,
so you don't need any sites. It's plain common sense.

It is what was done during those visits that Fonda and company
are criticized for. Among other things, they asked POW's to
admit to war crimes. I've read an account from a POW who slipped
Fonda a list of his fellow inmate's social security numbers,
begging her to get them to published as he and they were afraid
there would be disappearances - she handed the list over to the
guards on her way out, and the POW suffered permanent injuries
from the torture he recieved as punishment.

Either:
a) they asked for criminals to confess their crimes (nothing wrong
with that)
or
b) they asked innocent people to confess to crimes they didn't commit
(it happens in police stations across the country every day).

And if the list had been found on her when she was searched upon
leaving, who would have suffered permanent injury?

She had no evidence, beyond the propaganda she was swallowing,
that these soldiers had done anything beyond get captured.

Fonda wasn't a police officer. What she was doing was giving
aid and support to people who were torturing US servicemen.

Their favorite useful dupe? Get real...she didn't hand it
over due to fear, the POW saw her smiling as she gave it
to her best friends, the NVA soldiers. She couldn't wait
to cause injury to the US soldiers she hated so much.
Keep it up, Al...drag yourself down further and further
as you try to excuse the behavior of Hanoi Jane.

Neither do the police many times. Asking doesn't require any
evidence.

I wouldn't dream of it. I'm simply stating the obvious,
that who you choose as heroes tells people a lot about
what kind of person you are - and the things it tells
them are not yours to control. In this case, your
choice of Hanoi Jane as a hero tells me *very* negative
things about you, and you are unable to spin it otherwise.

Well, as we all know, Lyndon Johnson had a little talk with Nixon at
the '69 inauguration. It went something like this. "Look, *****, I
escalated this war for a reason, *****. If you do anything to f**k up
my investments in military stocks, I'll see to it that what I did to
JFK happens again, *****. Nuthin' personal...it's jes' business."
http://www.utexas.edu/lbj/pubs/record/spring02/images/tl-nixon_johnson.jpg
Nixon was scared, very scared. He decided to start taping
conversations, just in case.
Later, LBJ called to tell Nixon. "You done good, boy, I'll make sure
you win another term."
One final point. Lyndon Johnson died January 22, 1973, the Paris Peace
treaty was announced January 23, 1973. Coincidence? HA!
Nixon wanted the U.S. out, and didn't really care what kind of deal
was struck. Even if it meant that Saigon fell in two years.
Nixon later resigned rather than reveal just how far down the rabbit
hole went.
Conspiracy theorists...discuss.
