OT: Richard Biggs of "Babylon 5" dies. |
A posting on a "Babylon 5" message board by J. Michael Straczynski, the
sci-fi show's creator, said the cause of death has not been determined but
that "paramedics who showed up suggested it was either an aneurysm or a
massive stroke."

A great loss to the Scifi community.

"If you are ethical only because you believe in God, you are buying your
ticket to heaven or trying to tear up your ticket to hell. In either case,
you are just being a shrewd profiteer, nothing else. The idea of being
ethical is to be ethical for no reason except that that is the way to be if
you want the world to run smoothly. I think that people who say virtue is
its own reward or honesty is the best policy have the right idea."

Indeed.
Strangely ironic, though, that the first one to die would be the doctor, and
that it would be a medical emergency that did him in.

I met him a few months ago at Marscon, he was a really nice guy.
Not like a lot of GOH types, he partied with us, he talked to us,
hell, we even played truth or dare with him for two hours. :)
He was the nicest pro I've met in 18 years of conventioning. His
death is a great loss. : (

Sigh. I decided to skip Marscon. But, then, I had a ticket available for
Hendrix in '70 too and decided not to make the drive.
Yes, he seemed like he'd be a nice guy.
