OT: Scare America is bankrupt |
I'm not just talking about intellectual bankruptcy here, which is not news,
but fiscal bankruptcy which is news, but just barely. It seems that the
marathon, left-wing nujob *****-fest just wasn't bringing in any listeners,
and thus no advertisers, and thus no dough. Who'd of thunk it?

Clear Channel Communications.
They snatched up the rights to Air America in most of
the large & promising markets.
You yourself once scoffed at the reception from one
such Clear Channel owned Air America station, right
here in alt.atheism.
In Boston, where you might expect Air America to
find a ready Market, Clear Channel put them on a
5,000 watt station outside of the city.
One morning, at 7am (during prime "rush hour" drive
time), I was on Congress Street in Boston and
tuned the radio to Air America.... nothing.
No reception.
You can't sell advertisement without listeners, and
Clear Channel did all in their power to keep radios
clear of any detectable signal.
By the way, this is a crime.
Clear Channel took money from investors and knowingly
and intentionally squandered it on partisan politics. They
took investor money and intentionally passed by a hefty
return in favor of partisan politics.
Can you say "Fraud"?
Oh, don't worry. In Bush's America crime is a good thing,
so long as it benefits right-wing agendas. There's no
chance that the swindlers at Clear Channel will ever face
so much as an investigation, never mind the hefty prison
sentences they deserve.
