There could hardly have been a more fitting venue for an evening with
Alastair Campbell than in the shadow of the London Eye on the Thames.
The wheel is an emblem of new Labour: a construction of great promise
that rises above Westminster and Buckingham Palace, gleaming and
victorious but with a hint of Cool Britannia.
