A careful reading of the evidence suggests that even the wealthy have
been made worse off, on balance, by recent tax cuts.

Is this a good thing? Not to say that the wealthy deserve to be worse
off just cuz they're wealthy...but if tax cuts hurt, isn't it good that
they hurt everyone?

Bloodsucking, big-government promoting liberal kooks and their simpleton
newspaper.
Take this rag and everything it contains and use it to start a fire in
your fireplace.
Liberal kooks will stop to nothing in order to suck every single penny
out of every single taxpayer, rich or poor, in order to increase the
size of government.
Incidentally, these are the same people promoting the Toe.

Please pardon my ignorance of U.S. politics and media, but what are they
planning on promoting the toe to? A finger, a foot, or is there some
rank that applies to toes, and a pinky toe is being slated to become a
big toe.

Apparently, Nicola, you can we have a government with no taxes.
If you agree we need taxes, how can you tell when they are low enough?
You talk like a Yankee - you are naive if you think we are not paying
for Bush's decisions. You should realize that his government is
considerably bigger than Clinton's was.

Have you been keeping track of how large government has gotten in the
last 5 years?
In case you haven't been keeping up, this administration has signed off
on more pork-barrel expenditures than any other in history.
Wake up, dude. I don't know how old you are- 13 maybe?- but your
grandkids are gonna be paying off the debt from this administration.

Now, this I find interesting.
I had to put on fresh wart plasters, for my daughter's plantar warts,
tonight, and I had to wonder if there are people out there promoting
toes, and if so, how I'd get in touch with them.
My feeling is, one can't have enough toes put away, you know? I can't
COUNT how many times I've been caught thinking, dammit, if only I had
that box of toes handy, but no, I left it in my wife's car, and lord
only KNOWS what she's used them for, I mean, you know women -- well, not
YOU, NashtOn, we all recognize your, um, limitations, but you get the
point -- and here I find, there are PEOPLE promoting TOES.
I assume this is related to the dramatic increase in interest in the USA
related to soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, "water polo").
At any rate, count me in! I'm very very VERY interested in toes, and
while red leather pumps with just moderate heels are a matter of, uh,
interest, shall we say, they're not deal breakers. In any sense. No pun
intended.

Strangely enough (or maybe not so strangely) the economy flourished for
a little while during the Clinton administration. The political deadlock
was so tight the none of the ideologically favorite programs
(particularly Hillary-Care) had a chance. The economy was left alone,
and what do you know? It flourished for a bit. The U.S. actually ran a
budget surplus. What is the lesson. Leave the economy alone.

The poor have always been screwed. But government has not always been
large. With or without govenment the poor will be screwed now and
forever. It is the nature of our species. The strong ***** the weak over
