OT Star Trek Fans. |
Well, I did say OT but for some of us Star Trek is damned near a
religion so maybe it's not off topic.
<Link to follow>
When the original series first aired I remember being absolutely awed
by it.
When the Next Generation came on I remember thinking I didn't cheat on
my wife and I wouldn't cheat on the original crew by watching New
Generation.
<Yeah, I know already, I should be more mature>
I did finally watch it and while I liked it I just couldn't get into
it in the same way.
Now there are fan films on the internet and a young Elvis impersonator
named Cawley has spent about $100,000 of his own money recreating the
bridge of the original series.
People come from all over the world to use it and make their own
films.
This guy Cawley plays a young Kirk in the films he makes and the 21
year old kid playing Spock is in my opinion the best Vulcan I've ever
seen in the sense of the characteristics that were supposed to be
Vulcan.
<The guy who plays Bones is a real life urologist>
Btw, Paramount who owns the franchise gave it all their ok as long as
nobody makes money from it.
Walter Koenig <Chekov> has starred in one episode that is really good
and in the last episode filmed, George Takei reprises his role of
Sulu.
I never considered Takei to be much of an actor before but he out did
himself on this one.
<Remember they don't get paid in any way for this>
The link is to that episode and like Takei, who says it's his favorite
episode <Except for one when he was Captain> it may be my favorite of
all the Star Trek episodes I've ever seen.
<I choked up at the end>
Other people who were involved in the original series as well as
others, including directors, stunt people and special effects folks
have volunteered their time and expertise in these things and they are
surprisingly good.
At any rate here's the link to this episode "The World Enough and
Time"<Streaming video>.
I'd like to know what you think.

Know malkin, I served in the Military during the NIxon admin and we
had the Islamist terrorist threats even in the late 60's and early
70's , I was serving in the Med , and was off the coast of Israel
"doing you know what" , during the "Yom Kippur War " between Israel
and the Arabs . I saw everything MALKIN, that was the first time I
found out exactly what the Islamofacist were all about ...During and
After that spat our tub was in constant danger of terrorist
attacks..especially in southern Europe ... and we had to pull double
watches because of it
I must say though ,You made a Good Point , and of course. it's well

Come on, *****. This is a Star Trek thread.
He appears to be caught up in an interdimensional thread loop,
phasing in and out of random threads.
The post made sense in the universe he presently occupies.

TRUECHRISTIAN is life, but not as we know it.
Hatter
It does not register on the tricorder as a life form so my newsreader
plonked it.
It's a Borg.
Must be Nine of Seven.
You wish! ;)
Seven of Nine didn't impress me much; the hottest Trek Hottie IMO was
Hoshi (played by Linda Park) on "Enterprise."
Since that show went away, I've settled on Kari Byron from "Mythbusters"
as my TV Hottie. Not just cute--she's got some serious design-and-build
chops (sculpting, casting, etc.).
She not only kicks Seven's *****, she could make a sculpture of it!
