Object: OT: The cat and the (cooked) chicken.
I was so amused I just couldn't contain myself:
My Maine Coon cat just turned up dragging half a cooked chicken with
it. It feels warm to me - the chicken, not the Maine Coon. Though I
understand a cat's normal body temperature is around 109 degrees F.
One presumes I'm going to have one puzzled neighbour fairly shortly.
If only I could teach the cat to recognise credit cards, cash,
negotiable bonds and so forth...

Possibly off a plate. You can imagine it can't you - guy puts plate
down, goes back to the kitchen for a glass of water or something,
returns and no chicken. Belief in the supernatural increases!

The northern hemisphere is farther from the sun during it's summer than the

One presumes I'm going to have one puzzled neighbour

fairly shortly.

Oh my! Do you think he/she stole it right off of

someone's grill?!

If only I could teach the cat to recognise credit

cards, cash,

negotiable bonds and so forth...

Hmmm, I did have a cat that liked to steal money out

of peoples' purses

;)

I've trained my moggy to eat copious amounts of food and

lie around in

all

the warmest spots getting fat. He's very good at it.

In fact, he's

right

now successfully diverting all the warm air from the fan

heater under my

desk. :o\

<chuckle> How cute :)

But I have to ask - A heater?!? You must be in Europe.

It's 80 degrees

here,

humid as all get out with a major thunderstorm on its way

;p

No, it's summer in Europe, too. I'm in Australia. It's

currently 2C (35F)

outside.

Damn, you're lucky - I HATE the hot weather ;)

Isn't Australia's average temperature hotter than the US?
Seems to me I've read that. Come Christmas, Sara may be
sweltering worse than you are now!

It gets up to 41-42C (105f) during summer here.....and put some humidity on
top of that and you'll understand why I don't mind a bit of cold weather.
Of course since I've never seen snow in my life, I guess cold is a relative
term.

I was so amused I just couldn't contain myself:

My Maine Coon cat just turned up dragging half a cooked chicken

with

it. It feels warm to me - the chicken, not the Maine Coon. Though I
understand a cat's normal body temperature is around 109 degrees F.

I agree. I always say you can put more clothes on, but there's a limit to
how much you can take off.

A heater? What's that? Nobody here has a heater, nor a fire place.
Unless VERY rich and want to show off.

The building I work in was built in 1925 or so. The AC is not as old, but
knowing studio economics as I do, it ain't new. I've walked into the
office on warm sunny mornings to find the thermometer boasting 58 degrees,
and it's stuck. I not only have a heater under the desk, but I've used it
in 100 degree weather. Heh - opening the windows just makes it blast
harder.
