(ot) The Concept of FWOT |
If you've been in the Corporate world, you have likely experienced FWOT.
FWOT is the aimlessly meandering meeting wherein management complains about
things they never enforce, and introduce new policies they won't enforce.
FWOT is people who aren't even involved in what's being discussed having to
attend such a meeting.
FWOT is holding such a meeting after hours, at reduced--"training"--pay;
bonus FWOT points are gained by having the people who aren't involved in
the matter at hand drive a 1-hour round trip (with no compensation, of
course).
FWOT. Sometimes pronounced as FUCKing Waste of TIME.
Who here can further expound on FWOT?

"Atheism is the world of reality, it is reason, it is freedom. Atheism is
human concern, and intellectual honesty to a degree that the religious mind
cannot begin to understand. And yet it is more than this. Atheism is not an
old religion, it is not a new and coming religion, in fact it is not, and
never has been, a religion at all. The definition of Atheism is magnificent in
its simplicity: Atheism is merely the bed-rock of sanity in a world of
madness."

We'll all pray fer ya!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Robin.
Thank you. I'm more comfortable with that concept :)
But...but...cthulu loves you!
Hey, it worked! I got the job :)
Which job was this?
Not with Mr. Scrubbing Bubbles, thank goodness. He was a bit of a creep.
This is for a company that installs and maintains computer networks in
schools :)
That just does *not have the pun potential I was hoping for.
LOL, I'm so sorry. I know you were dying to take that and run with it.
Seriously, it's worked out for the best. Now I'll be working for two nice
Irish boys as apposed to a creepy Vince Vaughn look-a-like with the
handshake of a corpse ;)
<sigh>
(By the way, it rained Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras, I got talked into doing
shots, I'm hoping the hang over will end this month but I'm not sure yet)
Yes, I was thinking of you as I had heard the weather was bad and the crowds
were at record lows. Shots, eh? Of what, dare I ask? :)

The weather was *crap. Great weekend but Monday and Tuesday were soggy.
Last two years, it's been *early February and the weather's been a mess

expecting much better.

Great! What's your job?
Administrative Sales Assistant reporting to the prez. My position is one
they've just created, so the details are rather sketchy. My main
responsibility will be to make sure that every proposal, presentation,
publication goes out looking absolutely perfect, completely accurate,
totally professional, etc., etc. I'll be developing templates, graphics,
presentation standards, etc.
And can you learn something like network
administration while you work there?
Dunno. What exactly is that? :)

Lots of stuff, but it pays well. See whether, after you've been there
for a while, you can start being taught.
