Conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt marries the power of talk radio with
the reach of the 'netroots.' Watch out, Kos.
By Andrew Romano
Newsweek
July 3-10, 2006 issue - Hugh Hewitt is a master of multitasking. Week
after week, the sanguine, persistent pundit hosts his "center-right"
talk radio show from a nondescript office in Orange County,
Calif.-and more than a million people tune in. Two computers flank
his mike. While on the air, Hewitt uses the first to surf news sites,
then swivels to the second during breaks to update his well-trafficked
blog. "Both spoken words and written words are powerful," he says.
"Acting in harmony, the effect is exponential." Just ask Rick Santorum.
In May, he urged Hewitt's listeners to fork over campaign funds, and
the host, ever eager, posted a link. Donations shot up 500 percent.

Ummmmmm......so this guy uses a computer and reads his blog during breaks
just like every fucking talk radio show out there today? BFD. He surfs
for news. What a concept. I suppose next you'll tell me that he uses
email or instant messaging. He's a real trend setter. I bet he even has
a blackberry. OMFG, that's so incredible. Somebody call Guiness.
BTW, most radio shows have *staffers* to do all this while the show is on
air. Most radio shows also have *scripts*, whereas it sounds like this
guy just babbles about whatever ***** he finds on the internet or in his
blogs.

Just ask Rick Santorum.

You mean they went from 1 person to 6 people ;) ????

"It is fashionable to wax apocalyptic about the
threat to humanity posed by the AIDS virus, 'mad cow'
disease, and many others, but I think a case can be
made that faith is one of the world's great evils,
comparable to the smallpox virus but harder to
eradicate." -- Richard Dawkins
