OT: The Shame of Being an American |
The Shame of Being an American
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article14128.htm
By Paul Craig Roberts
07/22/06 "Information Clearing House" -- -- Gentle reader, do you know
that Israel is engaged in ethnic cleansing in southern Lebanon? Israel
has ordered all the villagers to clear out. Israel then destroys their
homes and murders the fleeing villagers. That way there is no one to
come back and nothing to which to return, making it easier for Israel
to grab the territory, just as Israel has been stealing Palestine from
the Palestinians.
Do you know that one-third of the Lebanese civilians murdered by
Israel's attacks on civilian residential districts are children? That
is the report from Jan Egeland, the emergency relief coordinator for
the UN. He says it is impossible for help to reach the wounded and
those buried in rubble, because Israeli air strikes have blown up all
the bridges and roads. Considering how often (almost always) Israel
misses Hezbollah targets and hits civilian ones, one might think that
Israeli fire is being guided by US satellites and US military GPS.
Don't be surprised at US complicity. Why would the puppet be any less
evil than the puppet master?

It really reeks of the shame of being an Islamic terrorist.
What shame? Bush has spent hundreds of billions of what might have been
our money some day, on a supposed irradication plan that has had no effect
on terrorism at all. If he had simply orchestrated a special op to squeeze
Osama Bin Laden out of his hidey-hole and into a court of law, Everyone
would have been very happy. Instead, he goes after a rabbit with a
shipload of fuel bombs, killing everything in sight except for the rabbit.
Now who's the terrorist?

eradicate.
Bush's "undeclared war" on terror has ensured the following:
1) It will never be resolved
2) It will go on for as long as we spend money on it. (forever?)
3) It is doomed to failure.
If he had convinced congress to declare an official war, it would likely be
over by now.

Excuse me?
Terrorism has advanced well beyond all previous levels, with
Bush's help.

OK. Agreed. The focus of the "war on terror" was supposed to be the
eradication of terrorism. The opposite is what is happening. I thought
we (the USA) learned our lesson in the 1970s, that this type of warfare
cannot be countered. Terrorism, like guerilla warfare, does not have an
address, or co-ordinates that can be bombed. Terrorism is not a country
we can impose sanctions against. Terrorists come from all walks of life,
from Muslims who believe they are doing the work of Allah, to Israelis,
who believe they are fighting to keep the land promised to them by their
god, to Bubba and his pick-me-up truck with his gun rack and his holy
Christian bible, marching on to defend America from all the evil gays and
atheists...

#1. I'm not ashamed of being an American
#2. I don't agree with Israeli policy, never mind support
it.
#3. Bush never could win a fair election amongst the
American people, and I doubt he could, at this point,
win anything but a totally rigged election today.
It's funny, but at times like this when we need a real
debate more than ever, here you are posting your

n the 1930's, during the Great Depression, a brave and decorated
Marine had the courage to stand up to the monied interests of this
country.
His name was General S.D. Butler. Highly decorated veteran of many
foreign wars, and commander of the United States Marine Corps base at
Quantico, Virginia.
He stood up for his fellow soldiers when 20,000 of them marched on
Washington, DC, to demand the respect that those in power would not
give to them.
When the millionaires and billionaires of this country, under the guise
of the so called "Liberty League" wanted to co-opt the veterans
movement and install a Mussolini-style dictatorship and overthrow the
elected government of this nation, he stood up to them as well.
