I got 9 of 15 :-(
Maybe, not too bad...
Mmmm, guess I'll have to brush up a bit before I flee the country when
the burnings start.

I only got 10/15 despite actually being British. I also want a second
opinion on the "where does Santa Claus come from?" question.

You're right, that one ticked me off too. It should be Lapland

I got 8 but would have got 9 had I not been clever....
One that I missed was the 999 question.
"The UK introduced the 112 number to help foreign visitors who may not know
that 999 is the main emergency number. "
So if they don't know 999 is 112 common in other places in the world or are
we born with that knowledge?

Also, you'd think a question such as "which side of the road do you drive
on?" would be more important than one about bloody Father Christmas.

I agree

Doesn't matter. It's still incorrect either way. Santa Claus was
'invented' in Germany, and reportedly came from Norway. I only got it
right because I knew it was of german origin.

Me too. Amusingly, I did better on the US citizenship
test I took a while back!
However, it doesn't test knowledge of British life,
but specifically what the book says about British
life. PG is a brand of tea *and* a film certificate,
the average Brit would know this, but how many would
know which one the book refers to?

I got 7 out of 15, so obviously Britian has changed since I was born
there. Funny how I didn't notice, because I've never lived anywhere
else.
I don't see how the Father Christmas myth has anything to do with
Britishness. While I would think ensuring that a solicitor is qualified
in the relevent field of law is more important than checking their
charges and IIRC, the UK voltage was changed to 230V to be compatible
with the French system when the channel tunnel was opened.
It all goes to show that all this talk of immigration is irrational
bollocks after all.

I got 15. The trick is to read the blurb at the beginning and realise
that most of the questions refer to the Government's propaganda
booklet about British citizenship.
