OT: What if the Pope lived in a coma for 10 yrs? |
Why didn't they insist on feeding tubes, ventilators etc, as they
preach the sanctity of life, as the faithful insisted they did with
Terri Schiavo?
How would the Catholic Church go on with a brain dead pope?
Believers, did you get lucky on this one while thousands of patients
around the world suffer in agony, with electrodes and tubes, a la
Frankenstein, not allowed to die?
Who is Dubya going to appoint as pope now? Or does he know it's not
his call to make?
Call them loaded questions. They are.

Probably that would have been the best possible outcome.

Who would notice? JPII hadn't had a new thought in 20 years when he died.
Embalm him good, glue some rods to his back, add some actuators and a little
software and you'd have a brand new pope.

Exactly. Just like a hospital ward full of comatose patients would get
along with a braindead scrubnurse.

It's because the people working in a hospital are actually
getting real ***** done in a real world. You don't have much time

Uh, duke. By saying "just fine" would seem to indicate that the Catholic
Church doesn't really need a pope. Sad that I had to point that out to
you.

To people like you, anything would seem to indicate anything. If the Holy
Father were in a coma, the system is set up to run the Church by his
subordinates. Just exactly how it's happening right now - with no problems I
might add.

No, that's the way Catholics interpret the bible.
