O.T. who wrote this famous short story and what is it called |
A guy standing by a bridge talks to two different families that
inquire about what are the people like in the town on the other side
of the bridge. He asks what was the town you left like. He told each
family that this town was the same as the one they left.
I though it was the Bridge over San Luis Rey, but am apparently wrong.

A good place for these questions is rec.arts.sf.misc (the "sf" is for
speculative fiction, not sci-fi). I once asked people to ID a story
from the 60's based on one single line I remembered and they got it
right.
