That is only because they are counting the unemployed so that the situation
looks as bad as it is. It will help them get funds.
I'll bet any state other than LA that declares an official 6% is really 12%.
In NE Ohio alone there are thousands upon thousands of people who are no
longer counted because their 6 months worth of unemployment checks have
ended. And those are the ones who bothered to file in the first place.
I know for an absolute fact that Central Florida use to doctor their
unemployment ratios because high unemployment correlated to high crime.
The inference of high crime rates tend to dissuade tourists from visiting
the area. That's bad for Florida. The solution was easy. Disney itself
works hard to keep crime unreported. A good book about Disney's influence
and practices is "Marriage to the Mouse."

Yup. "Unemployment" figures count only the number of people who are receiving
unemployment assistance from the government. People who have been permanently
disabled are not counted as unemployed, nor are people counted who are no longer
eligible to receive unemployment thanks to laws signed by Clinton in the last
year of his presidency.

There are in fact a number of differing unemployment
levels that are tracked by the governemnt.
The problem is that new sources do not report them all,
just the usual, misleading ones they typically use that
do not tell the whole story.
It has nothing to do with Clinton.
They were doing this long before Clinton.

Absolutely correct. And the last time I heard, Michigan had the
highest rate in the country.

Too bad they don't work for Halliburton or KBR.

Indeed.
There is a definable sense, however, in which *everyone* 'works for
Halliburton and KBR'...

This is true since we have to work so our taxes can support them.
