I was accepted to the University of Alabama at Huntsville yesterday.
All the nerds in the Southeast go there, and thus, it has been
nicknamed as The MIT of the South. I am actually going to make
something out of my undergrad time, as I plan on getting a science
degree. One most likely in some biological science. And most likely I
will embrace my inner nerd and get a atmospheric science minor.
Now comes the fun part: paying for the damn thing.

Get a job on campus as soon as you can. The work is light and the pay
usually not bad. (This does not include food service or other min-wage
type jobs.) Tutoring the speech pathology students through their
required physics classes was my favorite. They were all young, cute,
female, and impressed by anyone who can do "hard math".

Congratulations! I'm sure that you will do well. We need more good
scientists. Check around for scholarships. There are some that many have
never heard of. Have you thought of part time employment? I don't know
what's in Huntsville, but several local students work several hours
several days a week in our company. It's good pay and if you get a lab
job, it's hands on experience.

Paying for it is hard - I ended up up helping my Lady Friend get her

middle aged bachelor ever expected. It was hard for all three of us.
Are there any scholarships you can get, or other assistance?

I can get some sort of assistance because of my disability, and the
fact that my family is dirt poor also helps. My girlfriend, however,
is fucked. Her family is right above the "Here, have some money"
threshold.

Start hunting scholarships. There are an amazing number out there,
and apply for any that you might qualify for.
Since you are a geek, consider tutoring gigs. On campus jobs are also
a good option.
