In 1973 Britain joined the EEC, and few who witnessed it will ever
forget the uncontrollable wave of immigration that followed. Hordes of
Dutch people pouring into the country and swamping our traditional
British way of life, forcing us to wear clogs and eat waxy cheese. "It
was terrible," said one scared pensioner, "I mean, you'd get one
windmill go up in the street, and then another went up next door, and
before you knew it the whole neighbourhood stank of tulips and
everyone was cycling everywhere, speaking impeccable English... "
