OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT
New Delhi, March 12: The Pakistan foreign office had paid tens of
thousands of dollars to lobbyists in the US to get anti-Pakistan
references dropped from the 9/11 inquiry commission report, The Friday
Times has claimed.
The Pakistani weekly said its story is based on disclosures made by
foreign service officials to the Public Accounts Committee at a secret
meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday.
It claimed that some of the commission members were also bribed to
prevent them from including damaging information about Pakistan.
The magazine said the PAC grilled officials in the presence of foreign
secretary Riaz Mohammad Khan and special secretary Sher Afghan on the
money paid to lobbyists.
“The disclosure sheds doubt on the integrity and honesty of the members
of the 9/11 inquiry commission and, above all, the authenticity of the
information in their final report,” it said...

So, let's see...
9/11 was funded, planned, and executed by Saudis mainly and Bush runs
around holding hands with them. Some of the money was laundered through
the UAE and two of the hijackers came from there, so Bush wants to sell
them half a dozen ports. Pakistan gave, like party favors, materials and
information on building nukes to Iran and N. Korea and they're one of our
best buddies and along with the House of Saud get whitewashed out of
investigations.
You know, about the only thing Bush *hasn't done is kiss bin Laden full on
the lips...

Cooperation? So I guess their years of funding and training the
Taliban and other terrorists does not matter. How about this, whatever
we threaten to do to Iraq/North Korea for starting to make weapons
with technology and equipment obtained from Pakistan we try out on
Pakistan. At the very least I would have demanded they come clean on
their sales of nuclear technology rather than allowing them to cover
that up.
I am just trying to figure out the rhyme and reason behind who we make
friends and who we make enemies. It seems rather random. Saudi funds
extremism and they are our ally, Pakistan spreads nuclear weapons and
they are our ally. I think our support for the dictator of Pakistan
will end up with a Pakistan that is like the Taliban only worse for
us.

Cooperation? So I guess their years of funding and training the
Taliban and other terrorists does not matter.

I guess their attempts at capturing and turning over the Taliban and
other terrorists do not matter to you. There is also the minor matter of
going after Afghanistan *AND* Pakistan both at the same time.

How about this, whatever
we threaten to do to Iraq/North Korea for starting to make weapons
with technology and equipment obtained from Pakistan we try out on
Pakistan. At the very least I would have demanded they come clean on
their sales of nuclear technology rather than allowing them to cover
that up.

But we did that, Matt, and they *did* come clean. We *did* get AQ Khan.

I am just trying to figure out the rhyme and reason behind who we make
friends and who we make enemies. It seems rather random.

It's really very simple. You attack us, we attack you. What your
citizens do without your express permission we *might* forgive you, *IF*
you cooperate with us in bringing them to justice.

Saudi funds
extremism and they are our ally, Pakistan spreads nuclear weapons and
they are our ally.

The concept of diplomacy doesn't seem to enter into your considerations
here, Matt. I know you think Bush is a barbarian who only knows how to
bomb and invade but that's just another librul canard.

I think our support for the dictator of Pakistan
will end up with a Pakistan that is like the Taliban only worse for
us.
