Papal Official Wants to Divide Jerusalem |
Although I previously supported the belief that Jerusalem should be an
international city, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has spoken of the wisdom
of a divided capital. All the parties involved should heed the advice of
this most holy and wise man.

The Arab League and a Vatican official separately, but simultaneously, are
campaigning for Israel to divide Jerusalem. The PA recently asked to the
Pope to help make the capital part of a new state.
The Arab League has joined Palestinian Authority (PA) officials in
exploiting Israel's policy of not allowing Arabs in Jerusalem, who are
Israeli citizens, to vote in the PA legislative elections scheduled for
January 25.
It told the French news agency AFP that the ban would solidify
Israel's claim that the entire capital is part of the country. AFP termed
the predominantly Arab neighborhoods of the city "occupied east Jerusalem."
The papal representative in Israel, Nazareth native Michael Sabbah,
told reporters, "This [partition] wall must not exist. One day it will not
exist. The Palestinian people should regain their liberty and land with a
state and a capital and the Israeli people should have security."
His statements are in opposition to previous Vatican statements, which
have suggested that Jerusalem be established as an international city.

Jews never share anything, even though jerusalem was not exclusively Jewish
ever, they want to make you think that it was!

Is this just a euphemism for "give up the entire old city"?
Are the Arabs being asked to 'give' the new city to the Jews,
and in return the Jews will give the old city to the Arabs?
If the answer is yes, let me suggest that
His Holiness offer Moslems part of the Vatican,
for the sake of peace.

Pope Benedict XVI isn't going to be the same type of Pope John Paul II
was. He isn't going to out there on trips and such as John Paul II was.
What he will be doing is internally restructuring and cleaning out the
church. John Paul II was great in front of crowds but he wasn't as good
with the internal behind the scenes things that Popes can do for the
Church. Pope Benedict XVI will be the reverse. By the very nature of
"working behind the scenes" a Pope whose best work will be behind the
scenes probably won't get the credit he deserves. But his effects on
the Church could be just as great if not greater than John Paul II's.
