Passion of the Christ |
Everyone knows the story of the numerous accidents on the set (James
Caviezel accidentally getting whipped twice and later being struck by
lightning, etc.). I wonder if Mel and co. thought about whether this could
be a sign from their god not to continue?

He actually tried to claim that it was the supernatural acts of the devil
and the forces of darkness trying to stop him making the movie and saving
all those lost souls.
The man is insane!

Add composer John Debney to the list. Somewhere he claimed to be fighting
the devil in completing his score.

I think it has become a Hollywood tradition. That and big percussion
tracks.

Nope, there is no Devil....and there is no God, so it doesn't make any
sense.
The man is insane!
Indeed.

Like all christers, they read whatever they want into it. God always
agrees with their opinion. If you don't believe it, just ask them what
god thinks.
In this case, Mel was going to make the movie, no matter what, so it
wasn't a sign from god but the forces of evil trying to stop it. If
these events didn't happen, then it would have been "blessed by god"
or some such bull.
If the exact same thing happened during the filming of say "The Last
Temptation of Christ" then the christers would have said that it was a
sign from god to stop the filming because they disagreed with the
movie. Of course, since these things didn't happen, the christers will
say that the forces of evil wanted the movie made, forgetting that
this explanation apparently admits that their god was powerless to
affect the outcome. (Oh, wait, they always have the out that god wants
us to have free will. Until, of course, he sends you to hell for using
the free will he wanted you to have and knew you would "abuse.")
Being a christer requires that you make up a lot of ***** as you go,
and keep a straight face as you dispense it to the masses. Personally,
I don't see how the keep from laughing their asses off when they say
some of the things they present as "the truth" Practice, I guess.
