Pastor Frank's 'noble' cause (or Mr Frank exposed for the cowardly liar he is)... |
The only known ideal of atheist is: Yous are all superstitious morons,
(and I am not). Whereas we Christians have a published code of conduct we
aim to live up to.
Dennis Loube replies:
But since your code is open to any interpretation you please, what good is
it? Any atrocity you want to perform can be justified by your published
code. Anything you might want to do can instantly be the will of your god,
if you look hard enough. And once you've convinced yourself that it's the
will of your god, it's absolutely right and proper by definition. And this
absolutism means there's no further second-guessing or second thoughts to
moderate your actions.
Atheists don't have that convenient justification for any atrocities they
might wish to perform, nor can they claim absolute vindication for their
actions. Indeed, their lack of belief in a god means they have one less
thing that might motivate atrocity.
Besides, isn't your great ideal "I've got mine"? After all, the whole point
of Christianity is to get The Big Prize, is it not. Salvation is what it's
all about. It's all about getting off the sinking ship.
I fail to find anything noble in that.
This is a philosophical discussion, where we explore whether love is
only genuine when we feel love, and when loving actions, like taking care
of.... etc. come natural? Or whether showing love also to the unlovely and
one's enemies in disregard of one's feelings, is not a nobler cause.
Dennis Loubet replies:
Is outright insult an aspect of this nobler cause? Because that's what
you've been doing. I would hazard that since this nobler love you're talking
about is indistinguishable from hate, you might want to analyze it a little
deeper.

Pastor Frank's noble cause is his homosexuality.
"And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul,
that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan
loved him as his own soul" (1 Samuel 18:1).
"How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! O Jonathan, thou
wast slain in thine high places. I am distressed for thee, my brother
Jonathan; very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was
wonderful, passing the love of women" (2 Samuel 1:25-26).
Pastor Frank likes to pretend he has forgotten that we must act in
accordance will ALL scripture. Noble, he may be; put to death, he must
be.
"If a man also lieth with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of
them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death;
their blood shall be upon them" (Leviticus 20:13).
Praise the sweet name of Jesus.
