Object: Pat Robertson to Dover, PA: "Don't turn to God if you need help"
From the article:
--------------------------------------------------------
On today’s 700 Club, Rev. Pat Robertson took the opportunity to
strongly rebuke voters in Dover, PA who removed from office school
board members who supported teaching faith-based “intelligent design”
and instead elected Democrats who opposed bringing up the possibility
of a Creator in the school system’s science curriculum.
Rev. Robertson warned the people of Dover that God might forsake the
town because of the vote.
“I’d like to say to the good citizens of Dover. If there is a disaster
in your area, don’t turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city.
And don’t wonder why He hasn’t helped you when problems begin, if they
begin. I’m not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you
just voted God out of your city. And if that’s the case, don’t ask for
His help because he might not be there.”

So according to Pat, God will take revenge by inflicting some disaster
on the town for voting against the proponents of lessons in
supernatural biology. Reminds me of how Pat wanted revenge (death, if I
recall correctly) on a foreign leader earlier this year. Now remind me
someone, Pat claims to be a Christian minister, right?

Didn't Robertson also warn Florida that it was about to undergo some
sort of tragedy (Hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, even a meteor
strike) because Disney allowed benefits for the partners of gay
employees? As I remember, this was specific to the Orlando area (after
all, in the last 15 months, they have had hurricanes and more
hurricanes. That was probably because they elected Jeb Bush-add proper
smiley here).

Actually there is a need. Robertson's remarks need to
be repeated to everyone. Perhaps even the media could
be induced to print them.
Why? Because it shows the real aim of ID. But more
important it shows why we cannot trust the future of
our children and our country to people who believe
as Pat Robertson does.
Luckily, I don't think that a majority of Christians
agree with him. But that's all the more reason to
let them know.

Sounds like Robertson worships the other guy and not who most
Christians think that they are worshipping. Robertson's god won't back
up people that are for honesty and integrity. It sounds like Robertson
is preaching to the wrong choir. Sounds like it should be pretty hot
where Robertson wants everyone to go. I wonder why guys like Robertson
think that you can be so sleazy and think that you are doing something
for their god? It might be different if the Dover board had been up
front in what they were trying to do, and didn't spend so much time
trying to hide it and lie about it. Why would such behavior be
acceptable to humans let alone someones god? Here is a guy that
believes the devil exists and can't seem to see him when it looks like
he has popped his head up. I put god in lower case because I don't
think that Robertson worships the same god that most Christians
generally believe in (this is the guy that claimed that things like
tornadoes were punishment for political activity that he doesn't agree
with), and I don't believe in the devil. Humans are bad enough that we
don't have to invent something like that.

Same guy, if I remember correctly, who blamed the 11 September 2001
attacks on feminists and liberals. Apparently Pat Robertson's vision of
God is the type who comes by to torch your house if you stop paying your
protection money.

It was said on Robertson's show, but by Jerry Falwell.
