Object: Patriot Act renewed and toughened
Decent, law-abiding citizens have not had any infringements on their
privacy or liberties since this act was initiated in 2001. The only
complaintants have been our enemies and those who cry on their behalf.
Thank God that those people are in the minority.

Patriot Act renewed and toughened
WASHINGTON: The USA Patriot Act was renewed and toughened today, making
permanent the US government's unprecedented powers to investigate
suspected terrorists.
A new provision added by Republicans applies the federal death penalty
for terrorist offences that result in death.
Another established a new crime of narco-terrorism to punish people
using drug profits to aid terrorism - with minimum prison sentences
of 20 years.
The vote was mostly along party lines, ignoring protests from civil
liberties groups.
Sixteen provisions of the 2001 law, hastily enacted in response to the
September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, are due to expire at
the end of this year unless renewed by Congress.
President George W Bush has repeatedly called on Congress to make the
entire law permanent.
The House of Representatives reauthorised the act by 257-171

Every single American - decent, indecent or in-between - has had
infringements on their privacy and liberties since the poorly-named "Patriot
Act" was initiated.

Folks like Ben Franklin, right?

Thank God that those people are in the minority.

And you can prove that "those people are in the minority," right?

"It is necessary to the happiness of man that he be
mentally faithful to himself. Infidelity does not
consist in believing, or in disbelieving; it consists
in professing to believe what one does not believe. It
is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may
so express it, that mental lying has produced in society.
When man has so far corrupted and prostituted the
chastity of his mind, as to subscribe his professional
belief to things he does not believe, he has prepared
himself for the commission of every other crime."

Liberties? Hell, you haven't lost any liberties.
What exactly have you done to earn the liberties you abuse now?

As a canadian, I don't care too much about this PATRIOT Act, although it
could have repercussions here.
But as a citizen of this world, I would like to vomit on you. You are
everything a human being should not be.
