Wichita, KS (LifeNews.com) -- Pro-life advocates and family members of a
disabled teenager who died from a late-term abortion last year filed many
more petitions than necessary to ask a grand jury to investigate her death.
Groups organizing the petition drive filed 7,754 local signatures to prompt
a judge to rely on a seldom-used law allowing citizens to convene a grand
jury investigation.
The petitions seek a grand jury to look into the death of Christin Gilbert,
a 19-year-old mentally disabled Texas resident whose parents brought her to
Wichita for a late-term abortion.
Abortion practitioner George Tiller did the abortion in January 2005 and
Gilbert died days later.
Gilbert was 28 weeks pregnant when her parents took her for an abortion. She
was rushed into the Wesley Medical Center ER, followed by Tiller moments
later. Later she died from an infection.
In filing the signatures, pro-life advocates played copies of the 911 call
Tiller's staff made when the abortion appeared to have been botched.
The call features a staff member telling paramedics to come without their
sirens on in order not to draw attention to the abortion center. The staff
member evades several questions from the 911 operator.
In November, the Kansas Board of Healing Arts claimed neither he nor his
staff were responsible for the botched abortion death and refused to press
charges. It said Tiller followed all state laws in doing the abortion.
Tiller came under fire yesterday for running over a pro-life advocate with
his car who was preparing to pray outside his abortion center.

Hydrocodone is in Schedule II of the Controlled
ubstances Act. Preparations containing hydrocodone
in combination with other non-narcotic medicinal
ingredients are in Schedule III.
Vicodin, hydrocodone in combination with acetaminophen,
is a commonly abused version of hydrocodone. Vicodin,
as with all narcotic analgesics, can be habit forming
---causing dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal
symptoms if not used as it is prescribed. Even when
used as prescribed, the following effects are
possible:
COMMON SIDE EFFECTS MAY INCLUDE: dizziness, light-
headedness, nausea, sedation, vomiting, and
constipation.
LESS COMMON SIDE EFFECTS: allergic reactions, blood
disorders, mood changes, mental cloudiness, anxiety,
lethargy, urine retention, ureteral spasm, irregular
breathing, respiratory depression, and skin rash.
SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSE: bluish tinge to skin, cold and
clammy skin, extreme sleepiness progressing to a
possible state of unresponsiveness or coma, heart
problems, heavy perspiration, kidney problems, limp
muscles, liver failure, low blood pressure, nausea,
slow heartbeat, troubled or slowed breathing, and
vomiting.
Ms. Gilbert exhibited many of these symptoms in the hours before her
death. It is quite possible that the hydrocotone itself brought about
her symtoms, or the clinic may have given her another analgesic (like
acetaminophen) without being told about her hydrocotone use.
The autoposy also noted the presense of Candida parapsilosis, a yeast
which is associated with hospital-related infections. This yeast is
the fourth most common cause of hospital-related bloodstream
infections.
Maybe if you had bothered to do some research on this matter before
posting, you wouldn't now be struggling to extracate your
clown-shoe-shod feet from your mouth.

I posted some time ago that fundie/extremist/whathaveyous like
IBen/JYoung are addicted to failure, and that even when things seem to

So even though it appears that the anti-choicers are making headway in
the state legislatures, we're seeing meltdown after meltdown - Johnny
